Japan and in 1991, he started researching materials for Li secondary batteries and supercapacitors as an assistant professor at Yamaguchi University, Japan. 1997, he was promoted to associate professor at Yamaguchi University and in 2000 He became a visiting associate professor at the University of Minnesota. He moved to Kansai University in Japan since 2003 and a professor at Kansai University since 2005. 1996 he received the Progress Award from the Electrochemical Society of Japan. 2012 he received the Science and Technology Award from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan. 2021 he was elected as a fellow of the Electrochemical Society of Japan. For more than 30 years, he has devoted himself to the development of materials for advanced storage batteries and supercapacitors.
