It was built between 1665 and 1696 by one of the richest and most important families in Venice at the time, the Barbarigo family, as a thanks to God for sparing them from the plague of 1630\/31.\n<br><br>\nAs we stroll through its meticulously crafted pathways, you will discover a rich tapestry of history, art, and nature. From the majestic water features to the intricate maze, each element tells a story of beauty and symbolism. Prepare to be enchanted by the serenity and elegance of one of Italy&#8217;s most extraordinary gardens.\n<br><br>\nIn the garden you will find an approximately 400 year old Boxwood Labyrinth\u2014 likely to be the oldest one of its kind in the world\u2014 as well as one-of-a-kind boxwood hedge walls which reach up to 5 metres high.\n<br><br>\nGuided Tour with English speaking guide \u2013 Discover the symbolic meanings of the Garden\n<br><br>\nThis tour tells the story of the high symbolism of the Monumental Garden, designed by Luigi Bernini and inspired by St. Gregory Barbarigo, and some references to the important botany of the Garden.
