Miso Kim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). She earned her undergraduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Seoul National University, South Korea, in 2004, graduating summa cum laude. She completed both her M.S. (2007) and Ph.D. (2012) in Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Kim served as a Senior Research Scientist at the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) from 2012 to February 2021. In February 2025, she joined the School of Advanced Materials Science and Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) as an Assistant Professor. She transitioned to KAIST as an Associate Professor in February 2025. Her primary research interests include eco-friendly piezoelectric materials, acoustic and mechanical metamaterials, and 3D printing and additive manufacturing techniques such as electrospinning and digital light processing. Her work encompasses applications in energy harvesting, self-powered sensing systems, loudspeakers, multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), and other areas related to energy and sensing technologies.
