Marc Simonet is the R&D Director at Vivolta, where he drives the development of next‑generation electrospinning technologies and advanced fiber‑based medical scaffolds. His work is centered on translating electrospinning science into robust, clinically meaningful solutions. With more than twenty years of experience in electrospinning and polymer processing, His career spans both academic research and industrial innovation. He previously served as Senior Electrospinning Scientist at IME Technologies and held research positions at ETH Zürich, Queen Mary University of London, and Xeltis.
Marc earned his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, where on he worked on enhancing the reproducibility, adapting and maturing electrospinning processes to bring both the technique and resulting biomedical products closer to clinical application. A key part of this work, carried out in collaboration with Xeltis, was to develop a fully polymeric electrospun scaffold for in‑situ tissue‑engineered heart valves.
