Norbert Radacsi is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Chemical Engineering and director of the NanoMaterials Laboratory at The University of Edinburgh. He obtained his Ph.D. at the Delft University of Technology. Prior to his current position, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Purdue University and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He has pioneered a new type of electrospinning technology, which is capable of making large macroscopic 3D nanofiber structures within a minute. His interdisciplinary research includes areas of combining electrospinning technology with bioprinting, which resulted in nanofiber-reinforced hydrogels that can closely mimic the properties of human tissues. He has also been developing wearable sensors and energy harvesters using electrospinning technology.
