Muhammad Shafiq has obtained Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Science & Technology (UST), Daejeon, South Korea and Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellowship from Kyushu University, Japan. He is now an SYS-LIFE MSCA Postdoctoral Fellow and working as a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Biomedicine, University of Turku (UTU), Finland. He has published 100+ peer-reviewed articles, including 20+ review articles, and 4 invited book chapters in prestigious scientific journals. Moreover, Dr. Shafiq has presided 3 projects as a principal investigator (PI). His achievements have been acknowledged by 20+ awards, honors, and prizes nationally and internationally, including a Grand Prize from the University of Science & Technology (UST), South Korea and an Academic Excellence Award from Korea Institute of Science & Technology (KIST), Seoul, Korea. He has delivered more than 20 invited talks at home and abroad and is an ad-hoc reviewer of 30+ journals. His research interests include polymer synthesis and modification, biomaterial scaffolds, and electrospun fibers for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering applications.
