Prof. Ir. Dr. Ang Bee Chin is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Universiti Malaya and a member of the Center of Rare Earth Element. She obtained her Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Universiti Malaya in 2011. She is a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, United Kingdom, and a Professional Engineer (Ir.) certified by the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
Her research focuses on nanoparticles, polymer-based nanocomposites, electrospinning technology, materials characterization, failure analysis, and sustainable materials development. Her recent work includes nanofiber membrane fabrication for environmental applications, rare earth element recovery from e-waste, and advanced functional materials for green and energy-related technologies.
Prof. Ang has published over 100 high-impact journal papers and holds an H-index of 35. She actively supervises postgraduate and undergraduate research projects and is involved in interdisciplinary collaborations with industry and research institutions. In addition to academic research, she contributes expertise in materials failure analysis and provides consultation for industry-related investigations.
She is actively engaged in academic leadership, professional bodies, research commercialization, and intellectual property development, contributing significantly to advancing materials engineering research and sustainable technology innovation.
