Dr. Ewa Kijeńska-Gawrońska holds a Ph.D. in materials science and an M.Sc., Eng. in industrial biotechnology. She is the Head of the Laboratory of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering at the Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies CEZAMAT, Warsaw University of Technology. Her research focuses on the development of advanced materials for bio-active patches and tissue engineering scaffolds, drug delivery systems, and functional membranes using cutting-edge electrospinning technology. She also works on smart hydrogel structures and hybrid hydrogel–fiber constructs for biomedical applications, as well as hydrogel processing. She has led and contributed to numerous national and international projects. She currently serves as the coordinator of HyFiDress (Excellence in the Research Area of Multifunctional Hybrid Hydrogel-Fibrous Constructs for Wound Dressings), an EU twinning project, and is the PI of a V4-Korea trilateral grant. She is a co-author of over 50 peer-reviewed publications (h-index 22). In 2023, she was recognized as one of the best young scientists at Warsaw University of Technology (Best of Best PW). She is also an advisor of the “Biomaterials” scientific student club at the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering at WUT.
