Antunes Staffolani

Antunes Staffolani is an Assistant Professor in Inorganic Chemistry (Italian RTDa – CHIM/03) at the Department of Chemistry “Giacomo Ciamician” of the University of Bologna. His position is granted by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza, NRRP) of the Next Generation EU (NGEU) programme under CN-MOST spoke 13 “Electron Traction System and Batteries”, of the Sustainable Mobility Center. He is also affiliated with the Interdepartmental Industrial Research Center for Renewable Sources, Environment, Sea, and Energy of the University of Bologna (CIRI-FRAME). His research activity is performed at the ENERCube lab – technology transfer laboratory of electrochemical systems. He got is Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences in 2022 at University of Camerino under the supervision of Prof. Francesco Nobili. His expertise ranges from (i) development and characterization of active materials for next-generation Li-ion and Na-ion batteries, with a particular focus on anode materials, and (ii) novel electrochemical techniques and their implementation, with a focus on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and distribution (function) of relaxation times. Most recently he has been focusing his activities on the development of Solid-State Li Batteries via Stereolithography 3D-Printing. Furthermore, his experience also includes the study of recycling methodologies for Li-ion batteries via green soft-hydrometallurgy, and/or direct recycling. He is the author and co-author of > 15 research papers on peer-reviewed scientific journals, with a h-index of 9 (Scopus), 2 book chapters and 1 patent (granted).
