Matteo Grattieri

Matteo Grattieri is a Tenure Track Assistant Professor (RTD-B) at the Chemistry Department of the Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro, Italy. He has been studying microbial electrochemical systems starting from his Master and PhD studies at Università degli Studi di Milano and Politecnico di Milano (Italy), respectively. He spent two periods as Visiting Researcher in the groups of Plamen Atanassov (University of New Mexico, USA) and Ernesto J. Calvo (Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina) prior to joining the group of Shelley D. Minteer (University of Utah, USA) as a Postdoctoral Fellow for about five years.
He is author and co-author of more than 50 scientific publications, and delivered more than 50 presentations including Invited, Keynote, and Plenary Talks at international conferences. In 2023 he received a Visiting Professor Grant to visit the Institute of Chemistry of the São Paulo State University (UNESP, Brazil). In 2019 he received the Young Investigator Award of the European Society for Photobiology (ESP), and in 2023 he was elected to the position of “Officer” for the Executive Committee of ESP – Term 2023-2025. In 2018 he received the Electrochimica Acta Travel Award for Young Electrochemists from the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE).
