Nicolò Pianta
Nicolò Pianta earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry at the University of Pavia, the latter in 2017. He subsequently obtained a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Milan – Bicocca in 2022. He is currently employed as a fixed-term Type A Researcher at the same university.
Throughout his career, Nicolò Pianta has worked in the field of electrochemistry, with a particular focus on alkali-ion batteries (lithium and sodium). His research has involved both battery materials (e.g., sodium-ion cathodes, lithium-ion electrolytes) and advanced analytical techniques (e.g., electrochemical impedance spectroscopy). In addition, he spent the year 2024 at the University of Oxford (in Professor Mauro Pasta’s group) conducting research on the formation and growth of the Solid Electrolyte Interphase using impedance techniques.
