Alessandro Minguzzi
Alessandro Minguzzi is an Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Milan and President of the Lombardy Section of the Italian Chemical Society. His research interests include electrocatalysis and photoelectrocatalysis for reactions relevant to energy storage and conversion, wastewater degradation, electroanalytical chemistry, the recycling of critical elements, and more generally, the electrification of chemical processes. In these areas, he has also developed new investigative methodologies based on microelectrodes and X-ray absorption spectroscopies.
He has spent periods as a visiting scientist in the USA, France, and Spain and has been invited to give seminars at prestigious universities (Stanford, Gothenburg, Southampton) as well as at numerous national and international conferences.
His scientific contributions have resulted in the publication of about 100 articles and book chapters, two patents. He was awarded the AMEL and FIAMM prizes, established by the Electrochemistry Division Award of the Italian Chemical Society, the Primo Levi Prize (Italian Chemical Society), the International Society of Electrochemistry Travel Award, and the 2007 Oronzio and Niccolò De Nora Foundation Scholarship.
