


Vincenzo Baglio
Vincenzo Baglio is a Research Director at CNR – Institute of Advanced Technology for Energy “Nicola Giordano” of Messina, Italy. He obtained a B.Sc. degree in chemistry from University of Messina (Italy) and a PhD in “Materials for Environment and Energy” from University of Rome “Tor Vergata” (Italy). His current research is focused on energy conversion and storage, in particular in the field of fuel cells, electrolysers and metal-air batteries. Vincenzo Baglio published more than 250 articles (more than 10500 citations and H-index 59 from SCOPUS, more than 13500 citations and H-index 67 from Google Scholar) in international journals, 10 book chapters (Elsevier, Wiley, Nova, Springer), 1 book (Nova), 1 international patent (WO2014009334 (A2) in 2014; EP2872445 (A2) in 2015; United States Patent and Trademark Office Granted Patent US9819041 in 2017), and he had about 300 contributions in national and international conferences (more than 20 as invited/keynote speaker).
Actually, he is scientific responsible for CNR-ITAE of the following projects:
– Horizon Europe funded project: “Recycling technologies for ELV components to create a sustainable source of market grade materials for EU applications”(Crusade) from 01/01/2024 to 31/12/2027.
– EIT Raw Materials project: “Recycling Critical Metals from Fuel Cells” (LYDIA) from 01/01/2023 to 31/12/2025.
– PRIN-PNRR 2022: “Unitised Regenerative Fuel Cell with Anion Exchange Membrane as Electrolyte” (UNIRE) – Prot. P2022EWZFB, from 01/12/2023 to 30/11/2025.
– Bilateral Italian-German Project “DURAble, Scalable, and Recyclable Components and Cell Designs for Next Generation Alkaline Exchange Membrane Water ElectroLYSis (DURALYS)” funded by Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale and Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca.
