Enrico Berretti

Enrico Berretti is a researcher at the Institute of Chemistry of Organometallic Compounds (ICCOM) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). His position is granted by the Made in Italy – Circular and Sustainable (MICS) Extended Partnership funded by the European Union Next-Generation EU, Spoke 3, Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR). He got its PhD in Chemical Sciences at the University of Florence in 2018, focusing on the electrodeposition of metals and semiconducting compounds for industrial and energy conversion applications. During the following postdoc years at ICCOM he managed to participate to various XRD, SXRD and XAS in-situ and operando synchrotron light experiments, focusing on the characterization of electrocatalysts for fuel cells and electrolyzers. He was also involved in the CeME electron microscopy facility, located at the florentine CNR scientific area, where he worked on the application of lithographic and FIB/SEM methods for the production of electrochemical devices. His actual work revolves around the synthesis of novel, resource-effective, electrocatalytical materials and architectures using a combination of chemical and physical methods, and their characterization via beams of photons and particles.
