Andrea Casalegno

Prof. Andrea Casalegno is Full Professor of Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage at Politecnico di Milano. In 2005 he founded the M.R.T. Fuel Cell Lab; since 2009, he manages its projects and coordinates the related research group, today composed of about 20 people, including three associate professors, research fellows, Ph.D. and M.Sc. students. He is director of the interdepartmental laboratory Pro-eStorage, dedicated to high TRL activities on fuel cell and batteries, and coordinator of the division Thermal Engineering and Environmental Technologies (38 faculty personnel). He had the scientific responsibility of several national and international projects about fuel cell and batteries, comprising European projects under FP7 and H2020 and industrial collaborations. From 2016 to 2021, he was President of CT105 Fuel Cell of the Italian Electrotechnical Commission. He was visiting fellow at University of New Mexico, USA, in 2015 and University of Connecticut, USA, in 2016. He is member of the Board of Professors of STEN Ph.D. course, Politecnico di Milano, and graduated in his carrier more than 60 among M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. He is author of more than 90 publications on highly ranked international journals and co-inventor of four patents on electrochemical technologies.
