Giuseppina Anna Corrente
Giuseppina Anna Corrente, Ph.D., is a tenure-track researcher at the University of Messina. She earned her Ph.D. in Materials and Structural Engineering and Nanotechnology from the University of Salento in 2018, focusing on energy conversion and saving through multifunctional organic materials.
Her research lies at the intersection of organic chemistry, materials science, and environmental sustainability. During her postdoctoral research at the University of Calabria, she led and contributed to numerous projects on smart, multi-stimuli responsive materials, biocomposites from natural fibers, and advanced processes for environmental remediation.
Dr. Corrente holds the Italian National Scientific Qualification (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale, ASN) for Associate Professor in two chemistry disciplines. She is the author of over 40 peer-reviewed publications in international journals, and her work has received several accolades, including top downloaded and most-read article awards. She is also co-inventor of patents related to electrochromic devices and organic waste treatment technologies.
In addition to her research, she serves as Guest Editor and Review Editor for journals such as Molecules and Applied Sciences. Her expertise includes the synthesis and characterization of π-conjugated materials, ionic liquids, and electrofluorochromic devices, along with the application of spectroscopy and electrochemistry in materials science.
