Padua can be reached from the three main airports in the Veneto region and Bologna airport in the Emilia region

Venice Marco Polo Airport – VCE
Closest to the city of Padua (50 km) and enhanced by numerous services:
o Radiotaxi cab service (Padua): to be booked with twenty-four hours’ notice (by calling 0039 049 651333). The trip takes about 45 minutes, the cost is about 100 €.
o The taxi service at Venice Airport Marco Polo is provided by Cooperativa Artigiana Radiotaxi.

o Airservice private collective shuttles: costing 44 euros one way and also bookable twenty-four hours in advance (for contact, email: booking@airservicePadua.it or call 0039 049 8744025 Mon through Fri 15.30-19.30 hrs). The trip takes about 45 minutes. The driver will wait for guests in the arrival hall just outside the customs exit, holding a board with “AIRSERVICE” on it.
o Adjacent to the airport is a parking lot of regular buses run by BUSITALIA that leave every thirty minutes (from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm on weekdays, varying schedules on holidays): one-way ticket: 5,10 € (5,50 € if bought on board from the driver). Tickets can be bought
– at ATVO Ticket Office of Venice Airport (located in the luggage claim hall)
– at the ticket machine in Platform D of Venice Airport
o Or, lastly, you can take an ATVO bus (Venice Airport Bus Express) which will take you in less than 20 minutes to the nearby Venice Mestre train station, from which you can get to Padua.
Finding the bus platform at Venice airport is easy: exit the arrivals area and go straight ahead. The first lane you will find is the taxi lane, the second, 20 meters away, is the bus lane. Buses for the whole of the Veneto region leave from here: look up and make sure you take the bus to Mestre before you leave (airport – Mestre railway station express service).
Cost for one way: 10 €. But this is convenient only if you want to travel by train, because it costs more and it takes longer, as then you’d have to buy a train ticket from Venice Mestre to Padua (it takes from 14 to 34 minutes, depending on the type of train, and costs from 3,80 € to 20 € (train times and tickets on www.trenitalia.com/en.html)

Treviso Antonio Canova Airport – TSF
Second closest airport to the city of Padua (57 km), facilitated by parallel bus service to Treviso Centrale train station: Treviso Airlink. Average travel time: 10 minutes. Frequency: every 30 minutes. From Treviso Centrale to Padua the journey takes from 40 minutes to 1 hour, with a change at Venezia Mestre.

Valerio Catullo Airport in Villafranca Veronese – VRN
The farthest from Padua (95 km), it is provided with bus service: Verona Airlink bus 199 to the Verona train station. Average travel time: 15 minutes; frequency: every 20 minutes. The train journey from Verona Porta Nuova to Padua takes about an hour.

Aeroporto Guglielmo Marconi di Bologna – BLQ
Bologna’s Guglielmo Marconi International Airport (120 km from Padua) is one of the most important airports for international flights and for the breadth and variety of connections offered.
Marconi Express: The monorail train connecting the airport to Bologna central train station, Italian hub of the high-speed trains network and direct access to the centre of the city. 7-minute rides between airport and city centre, departing every 7 minutes.

By Train
Padua is located between the cities of Vicenza, Treviso, Venice and Rovigo.
It is easily reachable by train: with the high-speed trains you can reach Padua without changes in about 4 hours from Rome or Turin, just over 2 hours from Milan or Florence. From Padua it is also possible to reach the main towns of the North-East by train: Venice and Vicenza in about half an hour, Verona and Treviso in an hour, Cortina in 2 hours, even with direct connection.
The city center can be reached by foot in less than 20 minutes, or by public transport (buses and tram).

Trenitalia tickets must be validated before the departure of the train using the validators (yellow machines) at the station at the location of the start of the journey. From the time of validation, the ticket is valid for 4 hours.
By Car
Padova is at the centre of the main motorway junctions: A4 Milan-Venice for the west-east route, A13 Bologna-Padova for those coming from the south.
• Venice – Milan (A4) motorway: exit Padova Est if you come from Venice – exit Padova Ovest if you come from Milan. Follow the signs to the city centre.
• Bologna – Padova (A13) motorway: exit at Padova Sud, follow the signs for the centre of Padova or continue in the direction of A4 Milan-Venice heading east.
